Honk! Jr. was popular amoung the St. John students; approximatley 45 students audiotioned. However, only 36 were cassted. The cast of Honk! Jr. perfromed three times and showed their talnet to about 720 people. Honk! is a fun loving story about the ugly duckling. Ugly, the main character, is born later than his four siblings. When he comes out of his egg he is literally ugly. He grows up getting picked on by his mother. During the whole story the sly cat has plans to have him for lunch. He meets many other animals on his journey. He undergoes many changes one of which is changing from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. Eventually his mother finds him but he is apparently dead having been caught in a snow drift. He wakes up and they go home where he is greeted by the farm animals who now have a different attitude towards him.
