* * * Once upon a Mattress "is a story of the Princess and the Pea. Or, rather the true story." Prince Dauntless the Drab is held back from being married, because his mother, the queen, creates unfair test for 12 princesses, and they all fail. His father, the King, is under a curse- and mute. Sir Harry finds Princess Winnifred the Woebegon, a.k.a. Fred, from the swamps. And, requested by Dauntless, is getting tested for being his possible future wife. Will she pass the test?
